Soft jaws are a measure taken to improve the repeat positioning accuracy of workpieces during batch finishing. The basic principle is to use a turning tool to turn the surface of the workpiece in contact with the gripper to achieve accurate positioning requirements.
When turning large batches of workpieces, in order to improve the positioning accuracy of the workpiece during processing and save auxiliary time during workpiece installation, soft jaw chucks can be used. In order to change the arc diameter and shape of the jaw surface at any time according to actual needs, the quenched jaws of the three-jaw chuck are replaced with low-carbon steel, copper or aluminum alloy jaws.
